Job Description

BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children from the age of through completion of eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a “New Neighbor” school for refugee children – all of which reside within our community centers. Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Promise Community School District Talent Management Officer (TMO) will support the district by developing and executing a talent management system that recruits, supports, and retains high quality teacher talent as well as other critical district staff positions.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Recruitment: 

  • Support the district in efforts to identify, refer, screen, and support potential new teachers and staff
  • Develop talent marketing strategy to target high quality candidates, including identifying areas of need, designing print and social media collateral, developing presentations for potential staff, and scheduling and coordinating recruitment events
  • Develop job descriptions and candidate profiles
  • Research and attend job fairs that yield high quality talent
  • Collaborate with pipeline programs, and create/maintain social and professional networks in order to increase and diversity the teacher talent pool
  • Collect, organize, and analyze recruitment and hiring data, including applicant tracker
  • Review resumes to determine suitability of candidates
  • Interview/screen candidates to ensure alignment with agency and district values
  • Verify candidate references and required certifications
  • Liaise with agency Human Resources department to ensure alignment with hiring protocols

Develop and maintain talent management system 

  • In partnership with an external consulting firm, develop a comprehensive teacher career pathway system which includes:
    • a defined compensation structure for the district
    • a dynamic teacher retention strategy
    • a clear leadership opportunity structure
  • Teacher Retirement System (TRS) data administration
  • Teacher certification monitoring

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years work related experience.

Teaching/recruitment experience highly preferred.

SKILLS: 

  • Ability to think at the goal level (versus task) and demonstrate good logic;
  • Strong technical sourcing and research knowledge and expertise;
  • Experience identifying trends, leveraging knowledge, data and competitive intelligence to develop creative and customized sourcing strategies;
  • Experience with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn to drive candidate pipeline;
  • Highly analytical and process-driven mindset;
  • Have a track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, and integrity;
  • Remarkable organizational skills and relentless drive to improve efficiency;
  • Have exceptionally high standards for the quality of work and a reflex to improve at every turn;
  • Have well-developed emotional intelligence and moral character;
  • Possess an ability to build strong relationships, thoughtfully navigate challenging situations, and get excellent results from others; and
  • Strong problem-solving and clear communication skills.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

Proficient in Microsoft Office

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
