Job Description

BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children ages six months through eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a “New Neighbor” school for refugee children – all of which reside within our community centers. Our holistic approach to educating the entire family allows us to create a stronger and more positive impact in the community.  Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide high-quality services to low-income children and families to ensure optimum academic, social and economic success.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and oversees the implementation of ongoing assessment of the quality of services provided and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with the HSPPS, CACFP and all other local, State or Federal regulations. 
  • Directly supervises the Family Wellness Specialist, Child Nutrition Specialists and Department support staff. 
  • Develops, oversees and regularly reviews effectiveness of strategies (written plans) the EHS/HS program needs to deliver quality and responsive health and nutrition services to children and families in all program options. 
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of ongoing assessment of the quality of services provided and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with the HSPPS, CACFP and all other local, State or Federal regulations. 
  • Develops and implements methods for staff to interpret health and nutrition assessment data, provide health and nutrition counseling for families, and in other ways promote good health and nutrition habits among children and families. 
  • Negotiates with the Health Services Advisory Committee and local health care providers to ensure services for families are available and accessible. 
  • Establishes community collaborations with healthcare partners to link families with an ongoing system of health care. 
  • Responsible for compliance of the HSPPS and all other local, State and Federal regulations in Health and Nutrition Services, including the CACFP and NSLP contract. Oversees monitoring of Health and Nutrition services for all EHS/HS program options. 
  • Oversees CACFP monitoring of BakerRipley’s Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDC) and Community Centers for compliance as well as NSLP for the Charter Schools. 
  • Tracks the required program outputs for the Program Information Report (PIR) and ensures regular monitoring methods are implemented and reviewed. 
  • Promotes parent and community involvement in all aspects of the health and nutrition program by involving them in the development, decisions and evaluation. 
  • Other duties may be assigned at the direction of management.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, Public Health, or Business required

Master’s degree in related field with supervisory/management experience highly desirable

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years of experience preferred

SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and calculation of percentages, proportions and area.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

Intermediate skill in Word, Excel, Power Point

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
