The Sheltering Arms Senior Services division of BakerRipley offers a continuum of care to older adults and their caregivers to ensure they have the support needed to live with dignity, independence and quality of life. JOB SUMMARY:

Sheltering Arms is looking for a strong, customer service oriented professional who will provide programmatic and administrative support to BakerRipley’s Sheltering Arms Adult Day Center. This individual provides excellent customer service to members and family caregivers. The position is also responsible for functions associated with the Day Center front desk/reception area.  

 

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as first point of contact for families and potential clients at the Dementia Day Center; greets families, clients, and visitors to the Day Center and answers incoming calls and routes to the appropriate staff
  • Provides data management support for the Dementia Day Center, including but not limited to client data entry and chart management; manages client transportation, including but not limited to fund loading, client registration, and rate calculations for the Center’s transportation contracts
  • Provides general clerical/administrative support to Day Center staff including but not limited to report maintenance, volunteer data entry and phone triage
  • Supports the Sheltering Arms Senior Services division though the development of flyers and other marketing materials and publications for all programs
  • Provides care and protective supervision to all Day Center clients while utilizing appropriate and effective approaches/techniques for serving individuals with dementia
  • Follows the standards and licensing requirements of adult day centers including the accuracy of postings, cleanliness of the reception area and the management of the Caregiver Resource Center
  • Promotes and facilitates good morale and cheerfulness among clients and staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Must be at least 18 years old; high school graduate or equivalent

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with data management software programs

Experience working with older adults, preferably those with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia preferred

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

N/A

 

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

MS Office

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

 

SKILLS:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Expert knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in high stress environments
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must enjoy interacting with clients on a regular basis
