Largely supported by private philanthropic investment, our community-based programs engage and connect individuals to the resources that meet their emerging needs and aspirations. We provide a continuum of services including free tax preparation, family health and education, immigration and citizenship services, financial assistance and programs for youth and seniors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Assistant greets all visitors upon entering the facility and informs them about center activities. Answers phones. Provides general administrative support as needed. Assist with providing information and referral. Assist with fee collection and data entry (CTS).

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the front desk at the center
  • Ensure all lobby areas are equipped with up-to-date information regarding programs
  • Support center functions as needed
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, and work closely with other program assistants
  • Make reminder phone calls for class start dates and/or cancellation of classes, as applicable, to members and instructors
  • CTS data entry includes but not limited to class attendance and enrolling into and/or dropping students from classes, as applicable
  • Maintain and support, as applicable, Emergency Food Pantry, Food Fair, Senior Commodity Boxes and Emergency Assistance
  • Administrative support to campus includes but not limited to customer service, answering phones, taking and relaying messages, agency tours, fee collection, distribution of correspondence, preparing reports as needed, and inventory management
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalency

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1+ years of relevant experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days post hire

SKILLS:

  • Excellent customer service.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate and proficient in use of Windows, Excel, MS Word.
  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Willing to work flexible schedule, to include some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of families and staff
  • Experience using the ‘Asset Based Community Development Approach’ and/or ‘Appreciative Inquiry’ a plus.
  • Knowledge of TDPRS requirements regarding licensed school-age care programs COMPUTER PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Windows, Excel, MS Word


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)
