Job Summary:

Focused on serving a wider population even more deeply, BakerRipley seeks to employ a Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer (CISO) who will be responsible for supporting the strategic plan of the organization by working throughout the agency to drive strategic initiatives and create specific goals, objectives, deliverables, and measurable outcomes. The CISO will:

  • Be responsible for creating a strategic culture to ensure the entire Agency is committed to and accomplishes the initiatives being implemented.
  • Work at the intersection of public, private and non-profit organizations to analyze and develop opportunities to expand the impact of the Agency.
  • Work directly and closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior staff to respond to opportunities as presented to the Agency and to pursue opportunities aligned with the mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead the Strategy Group which includes high-level staff focused on development, marketing and communication, business development, partnerships, social entrepreneurship, planning and evaluation.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills and background in fundraising, creation and direction of strategic business plans, team-oriented leadership skills, independent thinking and decision-making, mastery of high-level data analytics, problem-solving, relationship-building, and the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to productivity and deadlines. An earned Masters Degree or higher and 10 or more years of progressive organizational leadership experience is expected.

Key personal characteristics include the ability to master details, support an assertive team, fearlessly open doors, and be a charismatic communicator of the BakerRipley mission. You might be interviewing an immigrant family in the morning, meeting with the Greater Houston Partnership in the afternoon, and sharing new opportunities with the Board of Directors in the evening. You manage effectively with a light touch, and a 40-hour work week is a distant memory.
