Job Description

The supportive services departments work with the organization’s divisions to provide BakerRipley the support to continue building neighborhoods that work. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Benefits Assistant is a pro-active and resourceful team member, providing office support to the department and excellent customer service to all stakeholders. The Benefits Assistant is responsible and works well independently and in group settings. Success measures include providing accurate and timely information to callers, communicating with diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality, and supporting projects as needed.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Request, gather, maintain and create files for Open Enrollment required documentation.
  • Provide coverage for phones and responding to emails
  • Process and update required Evidence of insurability (EOI) information for Life Insurance changes in the system.
  • Provide support in the daily operations within the department.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, including efficiency in providing employees with information and requests.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining employee files
  • Creating New Employee Orientation Folders
  • Managing Filing room duties

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent required

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of office/customer service experience

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

English written & verbal

Bilingual preferred

SKILLS:

  • Past experience in HR/ Benefits administration required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from external and internal customers
  • Skilled in writing response emails
  • Ability to manage multitask
  • Uphold confidentiality and discretion with all sensitive matters
