We’re looking for an experienced designer to join our team as the Art Director/ Sr. Designer.

You’ll develop brand concepts from ideation through execution and channel all of your artistic energy into designing, brainstorming and bringing to life our print and digital materials. You’ll play a leadership role in guiding the team throughout the design process and maintaining our brand identity.

The Art Director/ Sr. Designer has a clear understanding of our agency’s message, visual brand identity and audiences. As a true visual storyteller, you’re able to translate our content into compelling designs that reach people and inspire them to take action. Your designs not only enhance and strengthen our brand; they are effective and compelling channels that communicate our mission.

The candidate must have

  • Experience developing branding strategies and implementing marketing principals in design
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills
  • A highly collaborative style with commitment to working with co-workers, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants and other agency supporters
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
  • Able to oversee production of all in-house materials, digital and related professionally printed materials, related web projects/promotions
  • Able to meet specified deadlines and work on multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Must have strong leadership skills, a design background and proficiency with applications such as Adobe Creative Suite


  • Implements the marketing strategies of the Agency by developing effective print and visual materials for the Agency that clearly communicate and engage targeted audience
  • Collaborate with cross-function, interdepartmental teams to strategize design plan including graphics, layout, marketing materials and help execute
  • A brand keeper and creative lead for marketing graphics- maintains a cohesive visual identity and implements branding guidelines
  • Coordinates effective planning and timely delivery of creative and design projects
  • Project planning, workflow management, vendor negotiation, print buying, cost control, quality control, logistical coordination and press checks
  • Provides innovative ideas and concepts for communicating the Agency’s campaigns, messages, mission, vision, values and programs to all stakeholders
  • Collaborates on design projects with Agency Marketing and PR agencies
  • Prepare digital files for large format printing
  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing and Communications to develop strategies for advertising campaigns- print, broadcast, and digital
  • Manage vendor specialist such as: freelance designers, photographers, illustrators, and print vendors.
  • Develops or acquires images used in a variety of creative projects (for example, ads, brochures, corporate identity, packaging, presentations, promotional displays, signage and websites) and oversees the design, layout and formatting of these materials

Job Requirements


Requires a 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed


Requires a minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of directly job-related experience. Agency experience a plus/preferred


  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Graphic Design within a work environment
  • Advertising agency experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with both print and digital/web design
  • Excellent understanding of composition, color, photography, imagery and typography.
  • Strong branding, infographics, graphics skills
  • Must be service oriented and good at problem solving
  • Requires strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • An online portfolio with examples of responsive websites or digital designs, email, print, environmental (trade shows or signage) and creative branding work
