Job Description

BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children ages six months through eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a “New Neighbor” school for refugee children – all of which reside within our community centers. Our holistic approach to educating the entire family allows us to create a stronger and more positive impact in the community.  Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the department and supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
  2. Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for supervisors
  3. Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules
  4. Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings
  5. Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
  6. Maintain office supply inventories
  7. Coordinate maintenance of office equipment
  8. Coordinate and maintain records for staff.
  9. Ensures the office is neat and attractive.
  10. Other duties may be assigned at the direction of management.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required. AA degree preferred

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years experience in an administrative setting

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas Driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage.  

(Must be willing to travel as needed.)

SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions and percentages.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

Proficient in Microsoft Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual preferred but not required.
