Job Description

The Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will work with the controller to ensure that the agency’s reporting is
timely, insightful, accurate and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and in accordance with
the best practices in financial management. The role will provide leadership in three essential areas:

Forecast and Budget Ownership

  • Lead the annual planning process ensuring that all areas of the agency are fully engaged and supported
    such that a timely development of the budget is achieved and communicated.
  • Create and deploy budgeting procedures, build pro forma financials as well as accurately analyze and model
    the business.
  • Conduct regular forecasts that accurately reflect up‐to‐date business conditions to permit management to
    anticipate business needs and results.
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, forecasting, and modeling tools.


  • Partner with others in the organization to establish and report on strategic metrics. Assist with the creation
    and maintenance of meaningful dashboards.
  • Develop management reports in support of operational or functional areas.

Financial Analysis

  • Interpret the agency’s financial results to management and recommend improvements
  • Team with grant writers and program staff to evaluate new programs
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management


  • The candidate will have advanced knowledge of financial systems, and exceptional excel modeling skills. A CPA or MBA is strongly desired. 


  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of management experience in Finance. 


  • CPA 


  • Candidates with professional experience working in large and complex organizations are particularly desirable.
  • Bring strong business acumen and judgment with a demonstrated ability to identify and address business and financial issues
  • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have exceptional communication skills
  • Have the bandwidth to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Lead and coach a team of four finance professionals
