We provide a continuum of services including free tax preparation, family health and education, immigration and citizenship services, financial assistance and programs for youth and seniors.


JOB SUMMARY:

Prepare accurate and quality tax returns, conduct quality reviews of tax returns prepared by volunteers, and assist the tax center manager in answering tax related questions for clients and volunteers.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare tax returns at various tax centers
  • Monitor the quality of tax preparation at tax centers and implement quality control measures to improve tax return quality
  • Serve as an available tax resource volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned by tax center manager

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution, CPA or Enrolled Agent certification required; or

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of tax preparation experience

SKILLS:

  • Experience with the preparation and review of individual tax returns, the implementation of quality control measures, tax office operations, and management of staff is strongly preferred
  • excellent logical and analytical skills,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • The ability to work quickly with great attention.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Strong computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax law with expertise in the preparation of 1040 tax returns.
  • Displays a supportive and professional disposition.
  • Certify to the advanced level on the IRS certification tests.
  • Complete the Quality Review training

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Access and databases

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
