The supportive services departments work with the organization’s divisions to provide BakerRipley the support to continue building neighborhoods that work.

JOB SUMMARY:
Demonstrate leadership and accomplishment in delivering IT service to BakerRipley, a large decentralized organization.  Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the growth and function of Information Technology directly supports the goals of the Agency.  Manage projects to ensure that deadlines are met and that Information Technology budgets are adhered to.  Develop goals, plans, and procedures for the Network Services.



CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Sr. Director of Information Technology in providing oversight and direction of vendor selection for various IT projects, including but not limited to, equipment selection, equipment maintenance contracts, and new technology implementations
  • Work collaboratively with the Sr. Director of Information Technology to determine the Agency's long-term system needs and hardware acquisitions to accomplish the Agency's business objectives
  • Provide input to Sr. Director of Information Technology for budget management purposes
  • Direct and indirect supervisor of Network staff
  • Complete performance appraisals, discipline, and address and resolve staff concerns
  • Directly supervise all contractors in the IT Department which includes planning, scheduling, directly working with, or accounting for contractors’ time
  • Administer local area networks at central and satellite locations
  • Administer servers and storage systems at central and satellite locations
  • Coordinate maintenance of the BakerRipley network.  This includes installations, maintenance, and repairing networks and equipment
  • Work closely with all IT division leadership to reach common goals
  • Research new technologies that will support the Agency in reaching set and future goals
  • Design new systems and infrastructure as needed
  • Maintain knowledge required to keep pace with advancing technology
  • Enforce Agency IT policies
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer technology, Computer/Information Technology or equivalent work experience.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of management experience in a technology environment
  • Five years of technical experience, integrated design, technical leadership in complex client/server systems

SKILLS:

  • Extensive experience in service management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Senior Management at the Corporate and Business Unit levels
  • Knowledge of IT principles
  • Knowledge of IT concepts, methods, data storage, software applications, networking, intranet, internet, extranet, and telecommunication systems
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license for off-site work.  Mileage to be reimbursed

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

  • Advanced level experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
