Job Description

BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children ages six months through eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a “New Neighbor” school for refugee children – all of which reside within our community centers. Our holistic approach to educating the entire family allows us to create a stronger and more positive impact in the community.  Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.


The Early Head Start/ Head Start Talent Manager will partner with the People and Culture (P&C) Team to support the Choices in Education division in developing and executing a talent management system that recruits, supports, and retains staff.


  • Serve as Early Head Start/ Head Start liaison with People and Culture to ensure staffing needs are met in a timely fashion
  • Work closely with People and Culture to develop talent marketing strategy to target high quality candidates, including identifying areas of need, designing print and social media collateral, developing presentations for potential staff, and scheduling and coordinating recruitment events
  • Work with Professional Development Coordinator to ensure that teacher credentials are maintained, updated, and recorded appropriately
  • Develop job descriptions and candidate profiles
  • Research and attend job fairs that yield high quality talent
  • Collaborate with pipeline programs, and create/maintain social and professional networks in order to increase and diversity the teacher talent pool
  • Collect, organize, and analyze recruitment and hiring data
  • Review resumes to determine suitability of candidates
  • Oversee the recruitment for all HS/EHS staff and work with HS/EHS staff to Interview/screen candidates to ensure alignment with agency and center values
  • Verify candidate references and required certifications
  • Partner with Agency’s People & Culture department to ensure alignment with hiring processes/polices, employee relations and training and development
  • Teacher certification monitoring, professional development and letters of assurance
  • Respects confidentiality of all data and reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all staff members.
  • Communicates effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management.
  • Participate on the Planning Team for pre-service training requirements and participates on the Policy Council and applicable subcommittees.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.


  • 3-5 years work related experience
  • Teaching/recruitment experience highly preferred 


Proficient in Microsoft Office


  • Ability to think at the goal level (versus task) and demonstrate good logic;
  • Strong technical sourcing and research knowledge and expertise;
  • Experience identifying trends, leveraging knowledge, data and competitive intelligence to develop creative and customized sourcing strategies;
  • Experience with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn to drive candidate pipeline;
  • Highly analytical and process-driven mindset;
  • Have a track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, and integrity;
  • Remarkable organizational skills and relentless drive to improve efficiency;
  • Have exceptionally high standards for the quality of work and a reflex to improve at every turn;
