JOB SUMMARY:

Child Development and Early Education (CDEE) Supervisor provides oversight for the Texas Rising Star (TRS) program and the quality initiatives supporting TRS. Responsible for tracking and reporting on all aspects of the TRS program and supporting quality initiatives. Responsible for preparing procurement and oversight of quality initiative contracts. Provides coaching, leadership, direction, and professional development of Early Care and Education Specialists and Quality Initiatives Coordinator. CDEE is innovative and resourceful in developing people and processes that result in the delivery of quality early care and education. CCEE is organized and prepared, communicates in a professional and courteous manner and collaborates with team members and management. CCEE is sensitive toward working with diverse cultures and can articulate clearly with assertiveness. CCEE makes decisions quickly on available information and takes action to improve efficiency and productivity of staff. Responsible for the supervision of Early Childhood Education Specialists and Quality Initiatives Coordinator.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures Ensures staff understands and adheres to policies and procedures as well as contractual obligations with CSS quality and curriculum.
  • Compiles and reports on all aspects of the Texas Rising Star (TRS) program and supporting quality.
  • Prepares request for procurement requests and makes sound recommendation and oversight for quality initiative.
  • Identifies and documents process improvement opportunities and participates in project teams to develop and implement new ideas an/or processes. 
  • Develops and maintains a close working relationship with Texas Rising Star providers, vendor contracts, and other departments within child care.
  • Supervises Early Care and Education Specialists and Quality Initiative Coordinator.
  • Participates in local Early Education Initiatives and statewide as initiatives as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

SKILLS:

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and
  • Ability to handle escalated situations with critical thinking skills and problem solving
  • Ability to assess and create innovated approaches to promote Early Care and Education

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
