Job Description

BakerRipley provides an integrated holistic education system for families and their children ages six months through eighth grade. The Choices in Education division oversees the early childhood education programs and the BakerRipley Schools, including three community-based elementary schools, one middle school, and a “New Neighbor” school for refugee children – all of which reside within our community centers. Our holistic approach to educating the entire family allows us to create a stronger and more positive impact in the community. Both children and their parents gain access to education and broader community resources to prepare them for a successful degree and/or career.

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures all incoming phone calls and visitors to the Center receive a positive experience; provides information about the services of the Center, while providing general administrative support as needed.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures that the school office/lobby area is neat, attractive, and presents a positive first impression to visitors.
2. Represents program at Agency meetings, as requested.
3. Communicates effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the Agency.
4. Coordinates smooth operation of the center.
5. Disseminates office supplies and materials for staff.
6. Assists in obtaining inventory of all center supplies.
7. Receives and signs for materials and equipment for the Center.
8. Assists the Cook with ordering
9. Assists with preparation of materials related to program events.
10. Inspects facilities for hazardous conditions, unsafe equipment and materials and removes all debris.
11. Establishes and maintains effective oral and written communication with Center Manager, collaborative partners and program team members.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of (1) year work related experience

SKILLS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and successful experience working in teams.
  • Knowledge of the Head Start/Early Head Start Early Child Development program philosophy and structure desirable.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:
Computer proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
