Largely supported by private philanthropic investment, our community-based programs engage and connect individuals to the resources that meet their emerging needs and aspirations. We provide a continuum of services including free tax preparation, family health and education, immigration and citizenship services, financial assistance and programs for youth and seniors.     

JOB SUMMARY

The Adult Education Program Manager oversees the daily operations and logistics for multiple Adult Education classes including but not limited to GED/HSE, ESL, El Civics, IET, Intensive English and Digital Literacy. This position is responsible for the successful implementation of adult education activities, ensuring that the program is in compliance and on target with program targets, regulatory requirements, and contractual responsibilities.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Director of Education with overseeing the day to day operations of the Adult Education Program
  • Supervises data entry staff, lead instructional staff, and provides coaching and support
  • Develops and implements outreach/marketing plans to increase awareness of programs whereby increasing student enrollment
  • Conducts mass enrollment and orientation events for program participants; ensures that the program meets standards related to data entry, evaluation, and program design
  • Orders and distributes textbooks and instructional materials and assists instructors with ordering of supplies, copying, audio-visual equipment and routine communication that may also include concerns and requests for support
  • Reviews student evaluations and maintain information in TEAMS database
  • Works with program partners such as HGAC, Region VI and HCDE
  • Supports Teachers in all Adult Education Classes       and Staff In-Services trainings
  • Develops course descriptions that accurately reflect content goals and objectives of the courses
  • Serves as an active and contributing member of the CQI team, identifying improvements needed and executing action plans
  • Cultivate and support team work among teaching staff
  • Participate in project teams, outreach, and training as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Sociology or related field preferred

Texas Teaching Certificate Preferred

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of (3) years working with Adult Education program

Minimum of (1) year of social services experience preferred

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Texas Teaching Certificate Preferred

BEST Plus (Oral and Literacy) certifications assessment

TABE assessment certification

ICA –Integrating Career Awareness certification

TEAMS- Texas Education Assessment Management System

 

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY:

Proficient in use of Windows, Excel, MS Word

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual preferred
